These classes are planned for pre-kindergarten children and their parents.  Parents and children will attend 1.5 hours once a week for 4 weeks.  Parent involvement has been shown to be the number one factor in school success!  Parent and child will spend the first half of class together on planned activities.  Children will spend time working on pre-writing skills, language and listening skills, pre-math skills, science and movement activities, and some computer use.  Parents will observe and assist during this time.  Children will then continue skill building and socializing, while parents go to an adjoining room for the second half of class.  Parents will hear from guest speakers and share in discussions about preparing for Kindergarten.  Classes are held in the School Readiness classrooms in the Intergeneration Center at the Reede Gray Elementary School.  There is no charge.  We encourage you to check the schedule for the day and time convenient for you and register as soon as possible.  You may register by calling the Early Childhood office at 507-644-8939.
